MQ Vienna FW 2015
Here we go, the first once-over from the MQ Vienna Fashion Week! There are a lot of things you have to know about this tiny event we call Fashion Week here in Vienna. First of all you can go there totally normal, without even being a fashionable person, there are day tickets for about 20 Euros allowing you to enter any show you like. Secondly, except of the very small group of Fashion People here in Vienna, no one really knows that this thing is going on!
So, I am still pretty happy with the results of this years shows. Every year they show better designers and every year it gets bigger and bigger. For my very first day there, it already started on Monday, I was wearing my super comfy outfit you already have seen in the previous post. I saw five shows in total, and two of them where really amazing. Irina Vitjaz showed some dresses I absolutely would wear to my next ball or gala event. And We Are Not Sisters showed off some ridiculous cool stuff and I am seriously still thinking about to buy one of theses things.. (More down below!).
All together the first day was kind of the best, the shows haven't been crowded, still enough air to breathe in the tent, I had the best company I could think of, my fashion-indifferent boyfriend checked out all the models and in the end asked me why I wasn't on the runway too, I mean, it can't get any better or?
SHOWS OF THE DAY
IRINA VITJAZ - BUFFET CLOTHING - WE ARE NOT SISTER - R! BY DOMINIQUE RAFFA - KARLLA GIRROTTO
This show was definitely one of my favorites, I always dream to go to the Haute Couture Shows in Paris one day and even if that is another chapter, this Vienna based collection already is coming pretty close to Haute Couture. Irina Vitjaz uses just the best materials for her gowns underlining the feminity of women. I'm not just adoring the fabrics, no the marvellous design too, mainly the wonderful breathtaking backs of the dresses.
That young label from Slovakia is already known there for their cool street style mixed up with luxurious italian fabrics. For the shown Autunm/Winter 15 Collection, they had some of the best shaped coats ever, not just for women, also men found a lot to dream.
WE ARE NOT SISTERS
Another young label from Slovakia, again very street stylish with geometric designs and clean shapes. But all told, this here was one of my favorites. I love the way they have been using tweed in every from and shape, the most wonderful piece was (of course for me) that pink mini dress with the magic back I am really thinking to shop soon. The designs are full of little details turning every piece into something special, no matter how basic it looks at first sign.
R! BY DOMINIQUE RAFFA
I really really love that one striped dress! The rest of the collection, not my personal style, was still pretty amazing. Comic prints everywhere, on dresses, leggings, shirts, topped with classic knicker bocker suits made of grey tweed for men or wonderful coats for women.
ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Karlla Girooto isn't a fashion designer, no she's a super talented artist coming all the way from Brazil to show her research work focusing on the ways of existence and boundaries between performance, fashion and life. The models all have been wearing amazing face masks with so many details I couldn't even count them on the pictures I made, but my favorite detail are the shoes. I am not really into sneakers, but these ones, I am still dreaming of.
